Val Kilmer takes to Facebook over health scare

Val Kilmer has taken to social media to clarify fears over his health, following rumours he'd been admitted to hospital.

After months of rumours that the Top Gun star is secretly battling cancer, the actor insisted that he's been given a clean bill of health.

Putting fans at ease, Kilmer took to Facebook on Thursday night and explained why he'd been at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles this week.

He wrote: "Thank you all for your love and support. There's a rumor I'm unwell again and in hospital which is totally untrue. I was in to verify I have no tumor or infection of any kind which was verified by the very caring experts at UCLA."

It is the second time in ten months that Kilmer has been the subject of health scare rumours.

In January he was rushed to hospital from his home in Los Angeles, with a rep later confirming that he was "undergoing tests at a Los Angeles hospital for a possible tumor".

Since January rumours about Kilmer's health have persisted, fuelled by his increasingly gaunt appearance.
