Man raped and robbed in horrifying city centre attack in early hours of morning

Police made three arrests following reports a man was subjected to a horrific sexual assault in the early hours of this morning.
Three men, two of them 18-years-old, have been remanded in custody on suspicion of rape and robbery in Manchester city centre.
The victim, 44, was attacked on Bloom Street, bordering the Piccadilly area and Gay Village , before dawn on Tuesday morning.

An area of Piccadilly Place, close to the station footbridge, was also cordoned off for several hours on Tuesday in connection with GMP's investigation.
Two men, aged 18, and another, aged 21, were detained on suspicion of rape and robbery and have been taken into custody for questioning.

A GMP spokesman said: “Shortly after 4am on Tuesday 10 November 2015 police received a report that a 44-year-old man was raped and robbed on Bloom Street in Manchester city centre .

Scene: The incident took place near Manchester's Piccadilly train station
"Two men aged 18 and one man aged 21 have been arrested on suspicion of rape and robbery.
"They remain in police custody for questioning. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
Police officers were at the scene on Tuesday morning carrying out investigations at the scene, where a forensics tent had been put in place.
